Maple Roads is our restored c1813 Federal Style Home in Keysville, Virginia. John D. Richardson, a large land owner and local politician, embellished his brick home with highly stylized but provincially interpreted detailing that lends a more sophisticated air than that found in the region’s farmhouses. Some of the house’s features, especially its molded brick cornice, are more typically found in Shenandoah Valley houses rather than in the more restrained Southside dwellings.
Upon completion of restoration, the house achieved Virginia Landmark status and was placed on the National register of Historic Places. NOT FOR SALE
